horrible service. took my dad 3 times in less than 2 weeks for an apparent ulcer that was causing his excruciating pain. This last time he sat in the Er for hours without being giving no pain meds at all. Got him to UAB and he had his pancreas and liver inflamed. sorry of a hospital get actual real doctors in there. and the nurses just sit at the nurses station gossiping about patients. SAD.... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE AND JUST GO DOWN TO REAL DOCTORS IN BIRMINGHAM.

Absolutely pathetic. Wait is pretty long. NP Kilpatrick was clueless. Said they found nothing on the ultrasound and have no idea what’s causing my intense pain. So the np tries discharging me with a prescription for ibuprofen which I’ve already taken and it didn’t work. So I ask to see the attending thinking he might be a little more informative as to what the hell is going on. And he wasn’t. Dr Tighe was every bit as useless as the NP. So they did what they do when they have no idea what’s wrong and have no interest in getting rid of your pain, say “If it doesn’t get better follow up with your primary”. No wonder every single review on here has one star. That’s absolutely embarrassing and whoever runs this hospital should be ashamed

I was in there because I couldn't breathe. They didn't give me no call button for the nurse. The doctor didn't come back in to tell me my test results or anything like that or to see how I was breathing.

Took my mother to er . She has brain tumors and was having I assume congestive heart failure although we never got a straight diagnosis from anyone. We was their for around 7 hours, they did do multiple test on her but we never got results on those, mainly because we never seen anyone and maybe because they are incompetent. While my dad was in the room with her she asked for a bed pan, she is a full assist and a fall risk, my dad had to finally call them again after 10 minutes of no one , when the nurse finally showed her face my mom told her she was going to report them instead of the bed pan that nurse ran and got the gripper socks she was supposed to have on the whole time put them on her and never gave her the bed pan. Without seeing anyone else here comes this girl and gave me a paper and said this is the number your family will need to call upstairs and check on her snap a picture of her and I was like for what, is she being admitted she answered yes and left the room. So I called for a nurse to come tell us why she was and no one ever came. I went to the desk and told a lady we needed a nurse or doctor to talk to because she was being admitted and we had not even heard results from test nor did we have a diagnosis. A little while later the nurse popped her head in the door didnt enter the room and said they were slammed and she did not even know why she was being admitted or that she was and when the nurse practitioner could she would come. This nurse was rude. Then later here came the practitioner and she was short and rude and still didn't give us results of the ct scan or a clear diagnosis. this er is a joke and on the verge of abuse to patients so they better be careful if my mom who has her right mind would have peed herself because they gave her socks instead of a bed pan they would be speaking with a lawyer and dealing with abuse charges on them.. so sad they dont care. I am disgusted with this place.

Went in for extreme pain. Was charged out the keister and given nothing for it. May they all rot in hell.
