How T

Didn't make it past the phone call with the rude secretary. Never was a good hospital apparently still is not.

Received the best care and attention from very professional and friendly staff.

Called to speak with a doctor and nurse REFUSED to give me her name or the name of the doctor on call. When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she said sure and then transferred me to the receptionist. When I finally got to the nurse supervisor who said she "was in charge of everything" refused to give me the name of the doctor in charge of the floor or the second doctor in charge of the emergency room. She hung up on me because I was so agitated with her refusal to provide any information, including her own name, and the way HER staff treated me. They just want to run up a $4k ER visit and send you home with the same symptoms you came in with. I thought things were improving with UPMC taking over, but there are far too many hold-overs. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, GO TO A REAL HOSPITAL IN WILLIAMSPORT OR STATE COLLEGE.

This hospital is an absolute waste of space. I sat in a room for over an hour before the doctor even came in. Then another half hour after I got my x-rays the nurse finally came in with some pain medication. Now I’m still sitting here 3 hours after my initial arrival waiting for x-ray results. My recommendation is that unless you are dying and will not make it to another facility, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!

My son is 7 months old, and has some health issues. He has had two surgeries at UPMC Children's hospital in Pittsburgh. Yesterday, our son began having an allergic reaction. We know that UPMC is a good system, and we try to keep all his care within UPMC facilities due to our past terrible experiences with Mount Nittany. (We live in Bellefonte). My son's doctor seen him in the walk in clinic and sent us to the ER. We went to UPMC Lock Haven's new ER, and I have to say, it was the best experience with an ER we have ever had. Before we even finished registration the nurse was waiting for my son to take him back. The doctor... Dr. Sweetland and all the nurses showed so much compassion for our son. They then suggested that he may be allergic to the corn oil in the formula. They did blood work, IV fluids, a chest x-ray, strep test... They did a very in depth check over of our son due to his history, and not being able to eat. They then researched all the different formulas to find one that does not have corn oil in it! The doctor watched him eat and watched him have the reaction, so he was confident that it was the corn oil in the old formula. He then explained the history of allergies, and why humans adapt better to some things than others. I have never met such a caring group of providers in an ER. Thank you to all of you, and it's nice to know we have a hospital close to us that we can trust. We appreciate everything you did. Bentley is doing much better today, got some sleep last night, and is acting much more lively. I can not thank all the nurses and Dr. Sweetland enough.
