My son had to spend a night in the ER while waiting to be placed at another hospital. Wednesday he had a "sitter" in his room who was awesome! Roy was amazing andm made the wait so much more bearable. Thanks Roy.

Surgical center needs vast improvement. The 2 employees on 7/29 during the AM, need to remember HIPA, and keep their voices down when speaking. There is no reason I should be able to hear a patients phone number and full name. Also, the floor is so cold, and asked to have it adjusted, the response was “Nothing we can do about it.” It is not an organized place, volunteers talking to wrong family members. Hospital staff not knowing what is going on with loved ones having surgery. Nurse liaison on duty 7/29 actually sat down with a family and munched on boxed chocolates. Coffee on the floor is like sewage water. No sugar substitute offered. Just not a warm and welcoming place. Run as far away from Condell as you can. Seek better care for your loved ones. You will be thankful you did!

I used to love this hospital. I am very sad to leave this review. We received an order for a test from my 6 year old son's doctor. I called Condell to confirm they are in network, was told yes, and if they can accept the order from my son's doctor, also told yes. From here I scheduled the appointment for a week out. We arrived, and my husband did the check in. At this point nothing was told to us that we were out of network... a contradiction to what we were told a week prior. My husband signed what he thought was standard medical forms. On this form they snuck in we are out of network. We are now being faced with a $1,300 bill. Way to bait and switch. I would have driven the extra 15 mins and gone to northshore had I been correctly informed. Beware. They also say this is my fault because we signed a form. This is not ethical practice by any means.

This hospital is full of incompetent doctors. Michael Scheer, being one of them - a general surgeon who is very dishonest, unreliable and incompetent. He put my father through a lot of suffering. Misdiagnosed him and reassured us there was no cancer. 2 months later my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer by another surgeon.Because of Scheer's negligence, we are not sure of a prognosis for survival for my dad at this time because so much time was wasted. He mistreated him and should not be even practicing medicine. Unless it's a life threatening emergency, do not go to Condell. Many nurses here don't have any compassion at all as well. It felt like they are in nursing only for the paycheck and not because they truly enjoy being in that profession. Everyone who had a bad experience at Condell should really need to write and submit a complaint to the Joint Comission. The more reports they receive, the better chances something can be done to improve quality and outcomes at this hospital.

I 've been here in the ER for 2 hrs. And now I'm told I might have to wait another2 hrs just to be seen. I can't hold anything down my back is killing me and I may have a kidney problem. But people are coming in and not here very long with B S problems and are already leaving. This hospital sucks for ER services. I think the state board needs to look into their problems.
