Aspirus Iron River Hospital

I think we are very fortunate to have such a beautiful facility in our community. My experiences with this hospital and staff have been nothing short of Top of the line. I have had more then one stay and have had loved ones utilizing this hospital and we were not only in a beautiful setting but also had outstanding care.

To start my mother was dropped twice during her chemo treatment things happen train your staff better. Second I had hernia surgery there and it got seriously infected which required a second emergency surgery and the following morning the doctor came in to check on the open wound which meant he had to unpack it poke around and repack it now doesnt sound bad does it ? Well this was with nothing to even dull the pain I was tortured there and after they were done I was left to wonder if I was going to survive my stay. And the final straw which would leave me choosing to die on my way to a real hospital instead of chancing theirs was nobody working the emergency room counter I had to get a wheel chair for my grandmother help her out of the car ( managed not to drop her ) and wheel her in to a staff member that was busy behind the wall at her desk taking care of patients through her computer ? But the attitudes and the treatment while waiting to be seen was just rude. I'm sorry that I found my sick grandmother laying on her floor my mood wasnt the best but didn't need the attitudes from all 2 people working there. Go get stable then transfer to a real hospital !

I would like to give a 0 stars if possible. I went for a potential kidney infection, got tested, and got the results, NEGATIVE, within' my 20 minute appointment. I had TOLD them that they was just to rule it out, because I did not know when I would be able to see my chiropractor, so wanted to make sure it wasn't something that could really take a toll on my health. I was told it did seem to be something with the muscular skeleton. BUT that they were still going to send my urine to be STD screened and tested for pregnancy. I WAS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THIS WHAT SO EVER. I told the doctor, no that is not necessary I do not need that, because I have my annual exam in 5 days and would be tested for that FOR FREE as part of the exam. I was told that it was already sent and as a precaution, leaving flabbergasted. Here I am, stuck with a $420 bill. That I wasn't anticipating. Since when do we not have a say in what we have done? Billing, and her supervisor, AND financial assistance tell me nothing can be changed. I was told "I can't expect to come in and not pay for the procedures". WELL, when I say I DON'T NEED something done, it shouldn't be done. Plain and simple. Super disgusted with all this...

If you are dying, DO NOT GO HERE. Literally the worst hospital EVER. Many people have gone here with serious problems and told it's just this or just that because of their horrible inexperienced staff. Can't even tell if you have a broken bone most times, this has happened on multiple occasions. Not to mention they'll charge you for services you didn't even want, or told them no I don't want that test. DO NOT COME HERE!

I had gallbladder surgery in August at this facility. I have nothing but praise for the Doctors and nurses. I was diagnosed quickly, and Dr. Heyworth performed the laparoscopic surgery. I soon resumed normal activities. Ambulance service was professional and knowledgeable.
