This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. For starters, a few years ago, my grandmother was admitted and she was otherwise healthy except for what they thought might be the onset if pneumonia. So, they kept her over night for observation. She had been a long time patient of Aurora so, they had her entire medical file for the last 10 years. She was wearing an allergy bracelet showing that she is allergic to penicillin and aspirin. However, twice they tried to give her aspirin and once they tried to give her penicillin. Thankfully, she asked what they were giving her before she she could take it. The ER nurses were so nasty to her and to us. Moreover, I have had 2 additional experiences in the last year with other family members and the ER, and once again, those ER nurses were simply terrible! They have attitudes like it's a problem for them to so their jobs. I literally hate this place!

I was given fantastic care for a 2 day stint at Aurora hospital of Burlington Wisconsin. Every nurse who helped me had great attitudes, and I hope I dont need to return any time soon, but if so I know I'll be under great watch. We need more caring people in the medical field and Burlington has them.

My friend went to Burlington ER in pain he is not one to admit he is in pain or ever take any pain pills a very hard working stand up guy, he has been in so much pain for over a week can’t work, eat, sleep or even use the restroom. He stated he didn’t want to go to the doctor due to the bill and lack of care he has received in the past, he stated it was a waste of his time. I talked him into going because my daughter was seen by a great doctor earlier in the week in urgent care, Urgent care wasn’t open so he went to the ER, was only able to see a PA that had no idea what she is doing, and sent him on his way in the same condition. Makes me sick that people don’t want to do there job it’s just another paycheck, or definitely not educated enough to do there job and when we called to follow up the receptionist she stated he can come back to be seen again, well he already paid 1400.00 with X-Rays that he was told were normal, and referred to an orthopedic surgeon. Don’t go to Burlington Hospital !!!!

Went to the Burlington ER two years ago. After waiting forty minutes I was brought into the hallway and placed on a gurney and that was where I was “treated”. They told me they were too busy for me to have a room. They sent me home with a diagnoses of an urinary tract infection. I went to St. Lukes the same day and they admitted me and found that I had seizures. I thought I would give the Burlington Hospital another try as they are close. BIG MISTAKE. I was in horrible pain, 8/10. They took blood and got me prepped for an IV. I waited for two hours and when I had enough, I got up and said I was going to go. The front desk lady could have cared less about my request and told the triage woman to take my IV out and discharge me. When the triage lady tried to convince me to stay, the front desk lady said “she wants to go, let it go” real flippantly. So, I am now going to go to another ER, drive 45 minutes in pain just to avoid the Burlington Hospital at all costs. Aurora, keep it up!

I went to the emergency room 4 days ago. I had horrible stomach cramps, then severe heartburn. I felt like I was going to pass out and knew something was very wrong. I had my husband take my blood pressure and pulse. It came out to be 60/35, with a pulse rate of 40. I had him check his own bp, to make sure the machine was working, and his was fine. I then had him retake mine on the other arm. It was the same. I went to the bathroom before heading to the er and couldn't believe my face when I looked in the mirror. It was deathly pale and my lips were blue. As a retired nurse, I understood just how serious this was. At the er, they did take me in right away, even though they were busy. By then, my bp and pulse returned to a more stable reading, though still low for me. They took some blood work and an x-ray. The doc kept insisting that it must have been an event due to either dehydration or vagal stimulation, which occurs when having a bowel movement. I knew it was neither. She shrugged her shoulders and gave me a crooked smile. Weird. I've been there before with family and was never thrilled, but went because I thought I was going into cardiac arrest. I'm going to see a specialist on my own now. In the future, no matter how serious the situation, I'll take my risk and travel to another hospital.
