Broward Health Medical Center

Going to this ER was the worst experience I have ever had. The Nurses did not take me seriously. The doctor did not communicate to me any test results or give me an opportunity to ask questions. I spent 6 hours there and was never checked on or asked if I had questions. I was there for severe abdominal pain and I still had to get up and walk to the nurses just to find out what my test results were. The nurses were crowded together laughing and watching a loud episode of family feud. The only available restroom was filthy and covered in urine. It resembled that of a jail cell. In the end, I never got a real answer on my pain or was given any antibiotics. I now have to begin again with a different ER as my pain is still present.

Security is RUDE and aggressive almost like being in a jail. Very Very disturbing that my bags were checked and I was felt down. The medical staff are MOSTLY Haitian, African or Island decent who tend to have a bit more harsh way of dealing with patients. I dont mean this as an ignorant comment, so I'm sorry if anyone is offended. The hospital board should really take better control.of this facility

Great security until they don’t accept a military ID as proof of ID(lady at service desk tells me that it’s not an official ID) and won’t let me in to visit my family member that got emitted. We sat in the ER for 5hrs after being brought in by the ambulance. Then was emitted and haven’t seen the doctor since the day prior in the ER. On top of all that me nor the family member have been getting updates on the health status or any of the lab outcomes and it’s nearly been 24hrs..

I've been going to this hospital for over 30 years and they have grown into the hospital I choose not just where I have to go. I've been to the other hospitals here on the east side of Lauderdale and they've declined dramatically where BGMC has improved dramatically. They all need phlebotomy training but I've had way worse. In patient experience is very good! Even the food!!

I am a cancer patient with not much time left. Called rescue and sent to Emergency Room after passing out at home. ER was great !! In for 5 hours however from 1pm until admitted for overnight observation at 6pm. arrived in room, no one there 20 minutes later. RUDE nurse arrives. I told her I need to eat because I lost 45 lbs due to cancer to date and I am diabetic. She said you missed dinner. I said I have to eat and I would simply grab something downstairs, not a problem. She advised I am not allowed to leave the room or be kicked out of the hospital "against medical advice. I told her again, I must eat. I see if I can get you some crackers she said. REALLY? I got up and went home. HORRIBLE TREATMENT !!
