I took my daughter to the E.R. today when she was complaining of her chest hurting and she had a hard time getting a breath in. The student nurse did great. The other nurses and doctor where a nightmare. The one nurse came in to tell me " I'm not trying to down play it because she's picture perfect now, but it could have been a pulled muscle" was part of what she said to me. They did a chest xray and showed nothing. The doctor didn't even take time to listen to a thing I was saying when I was trying to explain to him I have asthma and worried my daughter may have it too. On top of no one seem to be worried of the low blood pressure my daughter had. Her blood pressure we first went in was 115/38 another one was taken exactly a minute after that was (I disregard considering you aren't to take BP's back to back) the last one before we left was 112/44. Her temp when we got there was 99.6 and checked again when we left was 99.4. They didn't bother to check her for anything else. Try to give her any type of breathing treatment. All at the same time a nurse sitting at the desk is shopping online. SHOPPING ON THE HOSPITAL COMPUTER! Really? Your more concerned with what to wear then the patients in the ER. The doctor was seriously rude and unprofessional to try and listened to my worries about my child along with the nurse stating she wasn't downplaying it which is exactly what she did. Not worried about the BP, start of a fever and chest pains. When we first went into the hospital my daughter was in tears because she couldn't get a good breath and she was hurting. I am absolutely appuald at the behaviour from the staff just because after an hr or so my kid was feeling a little better. This is absolutely unprofessional. The same hospital I went to for almost 3 months straight and they said there was nothing wrong with me and finally the end of January I was so sick to the point of almost death, I got a good doctor and he diagnosed me with sepsis and the infection came from strep throat which all could have been avoided if people did their jobs.
