Centegra Health System – Mc Henry Hospital

Very difficult to get in touch with a doctor, their nurses, or their office. Every phone call results in a email for a “call back” which can take up to 24hrs for a respond. This makes things slow and difficult. Stay near your phone for the next 24hrs and answer even spam calls else you have to restart with another phone call to create another “call back” email. Aesthetically a great office and very kind staff otherwise, just a pain to work with all the red tape to get care.

Been waiting for HOURS. Keep getting told they are busy and that there is no timeline for the doctor, because they are soo busy. Yet there is no activity anywhere to be heard. There were hardly any people in the waiting room when we got here. I'm starting to think there isn't even a doctor on the ER floor right now. At least there are nurses who care and are trying. Other than that this hospital has definitely been downgraded.

I received TOP NOTCH care at this facility!! From inpatient rehab, to MRI's (yes, multiple), to Lumbar Punctures (again, multiple), to IVIG treatments (5 days).... I was treated professionally, efficiently and have nothing but positive things to say. For my situation much better than Loyola downtown.

Ive visited this ER many times, have had multiple hospital stays. Ive had amazing care at every level. This hospital has wonderful staff, very compassionate professionals. I trust this hospital, which is saying a lot.

Ever since Northwestern bought out Centegra in McHenry, the majority of the experienced doctors who used to practice at Centegra were pushed out & replaced with inexperienced nurse practitioners. The only doctors remaining are specialists, and even they have been outsourced to private medical firms. As a result, quality of care has been compromised. Communication is extremely poor, and you can’t talk to an actual doctor. The only bright spot are the nurses who are trying to do a good job under these adverse circumstances. Until the “powers-that-be” at Northwestern McHenry can get their act together and put quality of patient care ahead of the bottom line, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!
