DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY!!!!!!
I think it’s clear by the number of terrible emergency room reviews that something needs to be done. They cannot handle normal flow of patients as the majority of bad reviews are about the night staff and the ER. We are 3rd in line after waiting for over 4 hours because too many ambulances arrived. Yet, people who have been arrested have gone back and have been seen while I have been sitting here.
Elderly patients are being sat in the waiting room with IVs and a bloody towel for their nose bleeds (not changed). If they can’t handle their current patients and ambulances then they either need to show a wait time somewhere before getting checked in or have ambulances go someplace else, so the 20+ people waiting for hours can be processed. An “emergency” shouldn’t be checked on after 5 hours, and the management and organization is just shameful. But, as I can see by the comments and the fact that this is still going on, it doesn’t look like anything will be done about it.
Avoid this place if you have to go to the ER for anything. They will only see you in a timely manner if you come in via ambulance.
*Edit: After nearly 6 hours, my girlfriend is clearly not going to be seen anytime soon for her deep chest pain and difficulty breathing (she told the nurse her pain was 9 out of 10 around 10pm, it’s now nearly 2am). We are preparing to leave because we shouldnt have picked to go to this hospital. They do not value the emotions or feelings of their emergency patients nearly enough to warrant having an emergency department. I will never suggest my family or friends come here. Edwards hospital would have seen us and gotten us on the move already.
Grown men are crying in the waiting room because they are being neglected. I was told ambulances were given preference, and now being told they aren’t taking ambulances first. I was told my girlfriend had an EKG when she didn’t, and when I voiced my concern for the third those they were more than fine with us leaving the ER and not being treated. This place is an absolutely embarrassment.
They see people being arrested so cops can go on with their day than people with serious chest pain and shortness of breath.
