Chesapeake General Hospital

The ER staff saved my life, literally. I had walked in and they took notice immediately of my condition and took me back ASAP and within seconds I had a full staff of doctors and nurses by my side doing what they needed to do to save my life. I was in an OR within minutes of being there. My aftercare was amazing as well. Incredible staff who were so loving and caring and treated me like family. The staff was so worried about me and kept up about my condition. It means so much to have a hospital that cares so much. I already shared my thoughts with their patient advocate. I can't thank them enough for everything they did. My son has a mother still thanks to them.

I would definitely recommend this ER. Took my dad last night to the ER and the entire team was excellent. We signed in and were taken back promptly. The triage nurse, Diana, was efficient and compassionate. She even tried to get us the closest room so my dad wouldn't have to go far. She got the vital signs and the basics without a lot of unnecessary chit-chat or time-wasting. She quickly took my dad back to a room. When we were in the room, we only waited about 15 minutes before the nurse came in. My dad's condition was not life-threatening but he was in horrible pain. For an ER, I think that was amazing timing! Nurse Cheryl was also excellent. She quickly assessed the situation and got on it without delay. Then Dr. Romash came in and was truly top-notch. His beside manner was impeccable. Perfect balance of know-how, compassion and humor. So pleased with this visit. I wouldn't take my parents anywhere else!

they took care of me as though I was family. Doctors and staff were very caring. They treat you with dignity and respect.

I came here earlier this year to the ER (around April) after experiencing symptoms that made me think I was having a miscarriage. While my ultrasonographer was extremely sensitive to the situation the doctor on call was not. She gave me a pelvic exam without explaining what she was doing, without asking permission beforehand etc. Unfortunately it made an already traumatic situation worse.

I am giving this hospital 5 stars because of the fact that they have excellent bed side manor! My friend is scared of hospitals for reasons in the past and the staff was very kind and didn't make my friend feel unwelcomed. Very impressed by this staff. We did visit the emergency room for stomach pains. Would recommend this hospital over others around.
