I had my previous doctor for many years. Since my husband and I moved we needed someone close and we were familiar with CHI Health. Our main reason for seeing a doctor is just for yearly checkups. I did have to use the emergency room once and that went very well. October 3rd, 2019 I started getting a sore throat and by Friday morning it turned into a headache, sinus pressure, congestion and whizzing. I could not sleep lying down I had to sleep sitting up so needless to say it was not a good night. I called Friday morning and was put through to my doctor's nurse (at least I think) she took my information and had to get back to me. When she called back she said that I hadn't had my symptoms long enough but that I could call back the next day. I told her it was a sinus infection at least and could I get an antibiotic. She said they couldn't prescribe anything without seeing me. I didn't have the strength to argue so I hung up. I went through the rest of the day and night miserable. My husband felt bad because he was out of town and couldn't help me. By the time I could get around and call the doctor's office again it was 11:30 and they said they take their last patient at 11:40. I was not given any other options. When my husband called I told him what was said, he hangs up and then I get a call from my daughter in Lincoln. I would have drove to Lincoln but didn't think I could make it. So my daughter comes from Lincoln all the way to Dunbar, picks me up and takes me back to Lincoln to a place where I see a PA. Both the nurse and the PA that I saw couldn't believe that my doctor wouldn't see me. I came out of that place with a prescription for an antibiotic, steroid and an inhaler. Since I work with the elderly, I couldn't go to work on Monday. I love my job and I was not happy with that. So on Monday I called to talk to someone about how I was treated. I called in the morning and didn't get called back until late afternoon. The business manager apologized saying that is not how we want to treat our patients. She asked if I was offered other options, I said no. She then said she would find out who and why the ball was dropped and would get back to me. As of today, the 20 the; I still have not heard from anyone. So I would not recommend them. I would say who my doctor was but I'm not sure if it was my doctor, another doctor or maybe the nurse just didn't care.
