Children’s Hospital of Alabama

I will be forever grateful for Children's of Alabama. In the multiple ICU, step down, burn unit, day surgery and dearth tower stays my daughter has had, everyone from maintanance/house keeping to nurses/physicians have been fantastic. Their interdisciplinary and teaching approach to rounding cannot be beat. She would not be where she is today if it werent for their skills and knowledge of pediatric trauma cases. The Child Life Specialist have created good memories during very hard times for my little girl through active play. Now she is not fearful or anxious during any appointments or sugeries which is a huge comfort for this momma. Thank you!

They killed a child who fell off their red wagon. Please stop them. They have no strollers! An adult worker went alone in the bathroom with a sick 13 yr old in HANDCUFFS! Please someone help these kids!

This is the only emergency room for little kids. But I would never take him back here. The doctor acted like she knew everything. She only checked him a little bit acted like he was all okay. I go to his regular pediatric doctor and he has upper and lower respiratory infection. Needs antibiotics, cough medicine. Worst visit ever!

The doctors here are great, but unfortunately the nurses absolutely suck. I feel incredibly sorry for you if your child is placed in Dearth Tower on the sixth floor. On the day of our discharge, the nurse, Krys (who should be FIRED), yelled at me telling me that she had given us all these instructions that she never did. During this time, we were walking back into his room after getting breakfast and physical therapy was in the room, which was more important for me to see what was going on with my child rather than listen to a nurse who was being disrespectful to me. However, she yelled at me further and said that I wasn’t listening to her, to which I replied that seeing what was happening with my son was far more important and that she was being rude by yelling at me. I let her continue to yell at me until she was done and I told her thank you and to leave the room. She was reminding us all morning that they were short-staffed, but that is absolutely no excuse for her actions. If anything it makes me think even less of her because as a nurse, dealing with stress is your job. If you can’t handle stress then you can’t handle your job. Period. The day that was supposed to be our best day was ruined by this inconsiderate, unprofessional nurse. This experience has completely ruined the reputation of this entire hospital for me. I will NEVER recommend this hospital to anyone. Just having a good doctor isn’t enough.

Very RUDE Nurses !! My Baby Had A Temperature Of 100.3 ; She ( Anna ) On Floor 6 said she was gonna order my daughter some Tylenol, 30 minutes passed and Still NO TYLENOL Haven’t Been Order ! Some other lady said she was coming to draw some blood for my daughters cultures and she haven’t made it back yet to draw her blood which been over and hour!! Then I pressed the emergency button on the remote and the lady at the front desk said “ what do you need “ she was so disrespectful!! Yes , This is a GREAT Hospital but The Nurses Makes This Place Look Bad
