This review is not a reflection of the emergency department staff; they were magnificent. This review is a reflection of the medical records department of Centra Hospital. I had to go to the ER while traveling. I am not from the area. I received an MRI and CT scan. On 8/29, my doctor sent a release form requesting my MRI and CT scan results and received confirmation. The records department did not send anything. I called Monday to inquire about the status, and Angie told me they do not have request from that day and to send it again. My doctor sent it again and received confirmation. The next day Angie tells me the same thing. This went on for days. I then became annoyed and told Angie that I sat on the phone with my doctor to ensure they sent it and they definitely sent it. Angie finally decided to do her job and look for it. When she found the request, she then accused me of falsifying my own medical request. She said to me, "did you send this yourself because this does not look legit." How dare you! If you are questioning the legitimacy of the document, look at the fax number. It clearly came from my doctor's office. I gave her the number to my doctor's office to call and verify that it came from my doctor. She said she would call and pass it to her supervisor and it would take 30 min. The next day I call my doctor to confirm if Angie called and nothing. She blatantly lied. I called back and spoke to Cheryl in the medical records department. It took her 5 minutes to get my paper work faxed and taken care of while Angie did nothing for me over a period of 7 days. I will be contacting the supervisor Ruth Faber. This is outrageous and unacceptable. The whole time this is happening I am sick in pain and no one ever apologized for their incompetence.
