Copper Queen Community Hospital

Most of the staff is very friendly and kind and work hard to make you feel comfortable. I've only had a few issues that I'd toss up to bad days for staff interacted with. Overall, a wonderful hospital and a lot of the staff are very well trained. I travel 35 minutes to this hospital because it is the best in the area.

Worst service I've ever had with the night staff. Was there six hours while trying to figure out what was wrong. They couldnt find a vein accurately, so ended up poking me four times just to get blood and put an iv in. Finally diagnosed me with a bowel obstruction, and wanted to send me all the way to tucson to get treated. Instead we got them to send us to the closer hospital in sierra vista, and I got there about an hour and a half later. Due both to my absolute fear of needles and how much they fished for my veins and hurt me at the previous hospital, I almost had an emotional breakdown when they explained an IV was necessary for my recovery, and that i would also need a tube in my stomach to pump out all of its contents. Once the sierra vista hospital did another Ct scan on me, they found that I did NOT have a bowel obstruction, and that copper queen had misdiagnosed me, and that the tube in my stomache wasnt needed in the first place. I'm never going back to this hospital again, if I need medical help, I'm going to go to sierra vista instead.

No transparency in billing/pricing. I was told it was "slightly more" to get blood work done at hospital instead of an independent lab. It cost me $2,200.00 instead of $200.00.

I was in physical therapy for about two weeks. My therapist was Dr. Daniella, and she was wonderful. I left feeling great.

Dr. Brown and the nurse and anesthesiologist (unfortunately I can't remember their names) on 10/9/18 in the ER were so kind and professional I have to let you all know about it. I had a fractured wrist and these 3 people were incredible. Dr. Brown set my wrist perfectly, the orthopedic surgeon was really impressed with her work and said so. So special thanks to the 3 of you!
