Delta County Memorial Hospital

Hospital has been professional and caring. I appreciate the level of care I have received here, but there is a huge issue with hippa violations in the physical therapy dept. I feel violated and will never go back.

My husband had unexpected health issues while we were on vacation and was sent to this ER by the Paonia walk-in clinic, which had very competent and personable staff. The ER was very well run. All doctors, nurses and technicians were compassionate and very capable. We kept our doctor at home informed and he agreed with everything they did throughout the stay. When the ER measures weren't enough to remedy the situation, my husband was admitted to the ICU quickly and efficiently. We can’t say enough good things about the caring staff in ICU or about the hospitalist, Dr. Call. Even though this is a rural hospital, we could see why it has been named one of the best rural facilities. They contacted specialists and researched all possibilities, even listening to the suggestion to consider (and research) the possibility that some of the problem could be caused by a bite from a type of tick we have in the Southeast but they don't see in Colorado. Everyone was dedicated, attentive and friendly, and kept us very well informed about all the issues and possible treatments. I never felt that my husband would have been ignored or without regular check-ins if a family member hadn't been there (as I have felt in many other hospitals). They don't have all the capabilities for some more serious procedures, but are ready to send patients to the larger facility and specialists in Grand Junction if needed. We have family in the area and are confident that they will have great medical care if they should need to come to this hospital. So I've often heard bad reviews about Delta County Memorial Hospital. I have to say that was not the case at all for my Husband and I. We showed up there to the emergency room Monday Night around 6 p.m. My husband was referred there from the Pic Place in Montrose for severe abdominal pain. We were treated very well. Everyone was very concerned and caring for him. Due to a bad gallbladder he was admitted for surgery. Mind you they had him admitted and in his room by 8:30 p.m. that evening. Through his surgery and stay the staff were awesome! Very attentive and caring. I want to give a special shout out to the med surge nurse Lauren. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, cna's and everyone else who attended to us during our stay. I highly recommend Delta County Memorial Hospital!!!

Toni in the mammogram department is wonderful. She makes you feel very comfortable and is such a sweetie!
