Duke Raleigh hospital is excellent! The nurses, doctors, aides, assistants and therapists were all very professional, knowledgeable and attentive. They also focused on educating our family regarding my father’s illness which is so helpful in preventing another hospital admission/illness.

They have poor bedside manners. The nurses are losing sight of their commitment too. And the doctors are all about the numbers. I say for 9 hrs waiting to be helped. 5 hrs in the waiting room nothing except vitals. And when i finally was leaving they suddenly had a room for me. Just to sit there for2 more hrs. Finally got a doctor and he ordered a cat scan with contrast. And I'm s difficult stick so because that they are was going to cut corners and do it without contrast. Therefore I was not getting the best of care... what the heck. Then they admit me just to let me lay crying in the room. Praying and begging for help. I swear I will never come here again. It saddens me Duke was number 1 in my eyes. They have got money hungry and are dropping the ball on patient care. Heck the new bed is hard as the floor. And they have tiny TVs heck the computer monitors are bigger. Oh well. Thanks

I would highly recommend DRH. My surgeon, anesthesiologist, and nurses were amazing and did a phenomenal job. Dr Davis- my anesthesiologist- explained everything thoroughly, helped with my anxiety and ensured I had excellent pain management! Dr Schweitzer- my surgeon- did a phenomenal job with my ankle. The only issue I had was feeling like I was rushed to be discharged, but I understand they were probably extremely busy. But other than that snafu- everything was excellent. I will be sticking with Duke Health!

In June I had a surgery and a a cardiac arrest and pulmonary embolism. Unfortunate post op happenings. I receive the most awesome care and kindness from all staff members you have a great organization. I’m alive to prove it Thanks and keep up good work. Peggy Kearney

Was just taken there by ambulance after a fall at work yesterday. I'm a nurse and have never been more ashamed to be in health care. Waited an hour to get into triage. The triage nurse took my last set of vital signs from the paramedics, but never took a set for herself. Medications were never verified, allergies never asked about. Then the doctor in the triage area very aggressively moved my hair and spread open a head wound that I had from the fall - and when I literally screamed in pain he just ignored me. I was then sent back out to the waiting room for an hour. After that the an x ray tech came to get me for some tests and I waited for another hour - was never put in a room or offered anything for pain during this time. Rude doctor came back in and said tests were fine and I was going home with pain med and antibiotics and left. Nurse came in - first time I'd seen a nurse, and said "So, what's going on tonight?" I just looked at her... not understanding why she was asking me what was going on at discharge. She then said, "Oh, I didn't read the triage nurses notes so I was just curious what was happening with you!" Unbelievable!! Will definitely not be back to a Duke facility!
