Durham VA Medical Center

I've been going there since 2001 I've had some good and bad situations there but for the most part I've received some really good care .

Some of the nurses are very Inconsiderate and forgetful.

I transferred my VA care from the now defunct W/S location and make the drive from GSO because of the care. Hi have received good care in the prime Clinic, Dermatology and Sleep Clinic. All of the staff and Physicians have been professional and very friendly. I understand that some people may not have gotten the best service but I always treat people with the level of respect that I would want to receive an intern have had a good relationship with this VA facility. My 4-star rating is only do to the simple fact that it is a older facility with aged restrooms.

If i could give a negative star, i would. How can a receptionist for an office not know if the doctor is present or not?! I have been waiting for a call back from my husbands doctor for an hour so i decided to call and just see if maybe my message had not been given to the doctor. Just as i expected, the receptionist did not even try to contact his doctor and the next one i spoke to told me said he believed the doctor wasn't even in today. A bunch of incompetents if you ask me! Good thing all these veterans fought for you to sit behind a cushy desk all day.

Ive been going to the Durham VA Hospital since 2013...Over the years we all have had some ups and downs...Seems like when things are going great some bureaucrat comes in and messes up the whole works.(example travel pay,we used to stand by the wall to get our number called,took forever. Then they were doing travel at the clinics,we get travel pay in 2-3 days...Now some BUREAUCRAT has got us back waiting 45 days and they cut the miles) But the medical care I get from Prime D (Paul,Marie,Susan ,Alicia,Jill) is world class health care. Same way in audiology Susan gives me great care,Vision Clinic Im on the Silver Team in a emergency he worked me in through ER only took 30 minutes (Greenville ,NC VA said they could get me in 5 yes FIVE WEEKS) To point Let the medical people and staff do their thing,,,And you BUREAUCRATS stop messing everything up and taking up all the parking spaces,,,
