I chose to go here with all my births. I looked at the Richmond hospital, St. Joseph in Lexington, UK, and Central Baptist, but here is better. I had my births naturally. I will go there again in a few weeks. They work well with my family, my wants, and my doula. I have delivered with more than one doctor there over the last 4 years. It is sad to see all of these bad reviews. One review mentioned a 30% discount that is clearly stated expires the day of release from the hospital. I have had no issues paying for my multiples stays with discounts the day I left, no matter what time of day. Once, I forgot and called back just an hour or two later and paid. If you plan and have someone pay the bill, you can get the discount, it just takes some planning. I love the garden for moms in labor/patients. I love the laughing gas. It has one of the lowest c-section rates and the doctors truly care about what the patient wants.

The absolute best experience ever in my life with a hospital type stay. I drove over an hour to have my baby delivered by Dr Miller at the birthing spa here and it was life changing. The nursing staff were so attentive but also understood privacy (I wanted as close to natural pregnancy as possible and they helped me stay focused and made me believe in myself). They were the most sweetest and encouraging individuals I had ever met and they stepped up when I was giving up and trying to step down. One woman in particular was my savior, and her name was Molly. I honest to god couldn't of made it through my delivery without her. She went above and beyond any kind of care and attention I have ever had in my life for anything. She was kind patient, attentive, encouraging, focused and just overall simply amazing. After my experience there I will only ever have my kids at this birthing spa. If you want a natural birth this place is purely amazing. The staff, even the woman who checked me in was kind, the place was emaculent, there were 3 pregnant women come in at once the day I was there and I was still in my gown getting checked within 20 minutes(I wasnt in active labor yet but the other 2 were). One side of the hall in the birthing spa has regular sized tubs and the other the spa tubs, it's a first come first serve as to who gets which tub, obviously if another woman is having a baby before me, she takes priority. The shower was giant and big enough for my boyfriend to get in with me and rub on me to help ease contractions, I was hooked up to a wireless monitor so I could still move around and use the yoga ball or anything I wanted until it was time to push. I absolutely did not want to lay on my back for delivery so I stood up until it was time to push and then was backwards on the bed and then turned and used the bar for stability to finish the crowning. The baby wasnt taken from me until I said so, they followed every wish I had down to not bathing her and so many other things. They give amazing breastfeeding advice, just advice in general. There is a beautiful garden that you can go out into (before delivery and only without baby after), the serve 3 delicious meals a day that you pick out and customize, you can have whoever's in the room for delivery (my dr said the most that's been in a room was 20!!) Or as few, we had just myself and the father. I could write about this place all day it was so amazing. They also dont force you to stay or go. If you are doing great and baby too you can leave in as little as 24 hours if YOU want. Or stay the full time. Completely up to you. Baby can stay with you or you can get a few hours of sleep. AND the message that they give to you after delivery is so much appreciated. The woman who gave me mine was so respectful and cautious of my worn down body... I honestly could keep going about all the positive events that happened to me at this hospital but you need to experience it for yourself. 10 stars if it was possible!!!

Do not come here my mother was in pain and took them almost 1 hr of her in a room and then we walked out and the dr came running after us and said I'm sorry. If he was able to see her leave what was he doing he couldn't see her ? She did go back in so we waiting to see what happens. #2 my boyfriend with very bad back came here and was told to lose weight that was all that was wrong with him . When we did see the back dr he had to have surgery on his back , the only reason we found out is we took him to Danville Hospital. This place is a joke . I wouldn't have took my mom here but it is near were we live . Will never do this again Berea or Danville will be the only place we go .... And yes the staff is nice but dont make up for the time u have to wait when there out at there desk talking . The place is very very nasty for sure in the span of 3 years this place has gone to the dumps .. Needs to be closed for good ....

If you are in pain this isn't the place to go to get help I was in the waiting room for awhile which i didn't mind then she comes out and gets me looks at the time i have been waiting and blames me for my wait time!!! I had signed in and sit down like i was suppose too when the nurse does take me back she starts ranting about how other people are more sick then I am and that i don't require all of her attention at this point I have not said a thing so in short if you want to feel bad about your personal life the insurance you receive which was on file for me and why you receive it which the nurse I had wanted that in full detail to her liking she was way more concerned about why I received my medical insurance then helping me.

I do not recommend the birthing spa in Stanford. I had such a horrific experience there, it took me and my husband 7 years to decide to have another child. I ended up in an emergency c-section due to negligent staff throughout my second and third trimester. Incompetence with the obgyns is unnerving and the facilities are nothing like they say it is on the website. I was not offered a birthing ball, the massage chair was broken and would not turn on, the tub is a standard tub, and if you plan on a natural birth it will be fought at the time of labor there. You will be hooked up to everything and put flat on your back while they use every intervention known because you have went into labor just 8 hours previously. When that doesn’t work they stand there just looking confused until you give into a c-section. Not a good place. St. Joe east in Lexington would be much better in terms of hospital births. My friend had two great experiences there. 🙂
