Five Rivers Medical Center

My mom went in for x-rays after falling. They took an hour to read the xray and 2 mins to tell her she sprained her wrist. Today 2 weeks later still hurting went to sick call and new xray was done and within 10 mins the nurse practitioner said she had a clean break.

It was just recently purchased by St. Bernard's so prayerfully that means I will be able to come back and leave a good review someday. This hospital has ALWAYS been terrible. When I was a child (26 years ago), I was given stitches in my finger without any local anesthetic. My nephew (18 years ago) was treated for an ear infection and then almost died from pneumonia that they completely ignored (he was 3). My husband (10 years ago) was sent home with a broken jaw after a CT scan and told it was just "bruised." I took my mother about a year ago for blood sugar over 400 and nothing was done, they just sent her home. We did witness an old man clutching his chest, doubled over in pain, struggling to catch his breath get told to wait in the lobby during that visit. We always go to Jonesboro if we need a hospital. The extra 2 hour drive is worth the risk in an emergency to see a real doctor if you value your life or your loved ones. Five Rivers is good at one thing, though - collecting their money.

Not a good experience; it was shameful. I left comment the comment above yesterday during my visit, April 20th and I still can't get over the way I was treated in the ER today. The experience is keeping me up tonight. Such shameful behavior from all the staff, but Dr. KB definitely set the tone for incompetence in the building. People come to the ER for help, they expect doctors to monitor their blood pressure and give you fluids without asking- as the basics- when complaining about gut wrenching pain and explaining to the staff that you have been vomiting for hours (from 5Am until after I checked in the hospital at 11 and was seen at 12:30)! Those aren't services you should have to ask or beg. That is the minimum and I had to ask, several times.

If I could rate them lower I would!!! So when u go to this center speak very slow so they MAYBE can understand your needs and the issues you are having. Then ask them to repeat it back to you as you would a 1st grader so that you know they know ! And then they cannot say they didn't understand you issues!!!!

Scott Lewis is a total joke and I wouldn't send a Tom Cat to see him. Literally only gave a star because I had to in order to leave a review.
