French Hospital Medical Center

Visited a friend who was in the Intensive care unit. Th parking lot was packed “at all hours” they do have plenty of handicapped parking. All the other parking places say patient parking, not sure why. At this time the hospital is going through major renovations as I walked into the emergency area I did notice that it was very clean and modern looking inside the hospital floors looked like they had just been redone and everything looked new and shiny. The staff nurses were also very nice polite and actually joked around with us.

My son had a flu symptom with pretty severe chest pain. It was a Sunday and he can only go to this hospital's emergency service. They did a x-ray and checked his mouth. He was there about 2 hours and most of the time was waiting without being attended to. We then get a bill for 2000 dollars. Later on there was another bill of 300 dollars. This is after my insurance paid their portion. Our family have had medical service else where and never experience this kind of cost. I am puzzled if this hospital is legit. I would advise people be very careful before you go to this hospital. Check their rating, it is very low, 3!

Friday September 27th @ approximately 11am called French hospital , asked for radiology which went to a v/m. By 2pm no return call to make appt. for a specific test . I called back & this time asked for Imaging dept. , it was a male voice recording left another message , 4:15 called again & transferred to a different male voice recording & left message . Did not call on the wkend or Monday as I was too sick. Called October 1st about 8:30 asked for radiology/ imaging which went to a v/m, did not leave message. Called right back & asked for administration. Spoke with a very nice lady who put me thru to radiology, another recording. Called administration again , same lady took my phone # & would pass to the proper person , that was 8:43 am. Didn’t receive a call back so @ 10:30 am made an appointment @ SIERRA hospital within 10 minutes . Carol from radiology did call me back @ 11:10am, explained I had already scheduled an appointment @ Sierra Vista hospital. Carol was very kind & apologized. After all that mess I wasn’t comfortable to do the test @ French any. I’m so disappointed as I’ve always liked French hospital.

They fixed up my face nicely. I cant ask for much more than that.

My daughter’s BP Plummeted in the ER, the staff expected her to get up and go to x-ray... they brought a wheelchair only when confronted with her astounding weakness. Amazing.
