Johnston Memorial Hospital

I'm from Johnson County and I won't go anywhere but here. It's a good place. They will check you out for all possibilities by the symptoms you tell them. They are very good. Best closest ER to go too

My dad was there for an extended time. Some of the nurses were great some of them are bad. That's what you're going to get when you have a hospital where you have a lot of traveling nurses. But worst of all, my mom went to the ER with a dementia episode. Rather than call her next of kin to let them know that she was there, they refused to answer any questions until the police reported her as a missing person. Only then would they tell us that she had been released from the ER and taken to a different facility. It took me over 24 hours to find out where my mother was. That's neglectful and irresponsible when we should have been involved in her treatment. Even if you use the excuse they didn't know how to contact us, which is BS because our contact information was in the cell phone that was on her person, when I called asking for her they didn't pass our information onto the receiving hospital until I threatened them with a lawsuit. My mother definitely filled out HIPAA forms there previously, but they said they can't find them, but regardless of that fact her psychiatrist said once she was decided to be incompetent her next-of-kin should have been called. And just to add, I wasn't asking for a medical diagnosis just the location of where she had been transported. Also, when I finally did track her down at the facility she's been transferred to , she'd been asking to speak to me for 2 days by that point. Again, they claimed they didn't know what my cell phone number was, but it is in her phone! And should have been on her Hospital record as next of kin which should have been given to the Receiving Hospital

Excellent staff and physicians!! I wouldn't be able to give this review if they hadn't been on my side during me before my heart stopped or my kidneys failed!! Those that don't know what being near death really cannot give true reviews. I am moving my care team to Johnston Memorial.

From the moment I walked in the door I felt like an imposition to the staff, the ER receptionist was hateful and very rude, the doctor was condescending to us, and this nursing staff is the coldest I've experienced in the area... Uncaring all around. It's hard enough being in a hospital and then to be treated this way just made it worse.

This place deserves 0 stars... from placing call lights out of reach from patients intentionally, to restraining patients without Dr. Orders, to a "Charge Nurse " speaking ill of said patient, where it could be heard by family members... this place is no where to take your loved ones. And if anyone from higher up would like to hear the details, please contact me.. but, I won't hold my breath. And I will not go away quietly. Update... still haven't heard from anyone that cares. But, Ballad Health sure does want to get paid for subpar care I see others concerns are being addressed.. but, I'm still being ignored??? Nice move
