Providence Tarzana Medical Center

The hospital is under construction, the emergency room which is makeshift, was a bit crowded with only one physician on a weekday morning 7 am. I think that Intake staff members need a course in how to receive and direct patients in a warm friendly manner. After all, healthcare is exorbitantly expensive and people have many choices. I would not recommend anyone going to the emergency room due to the disorder and indifference of the intake staff. The only reason I would not give the hospital a ONE star is because of the wonderful care by Dr. Solomon who had the best bedside manner of anyone I have met in my 68 year life. He listened to everyone and was calm even though he was very busy. He is an outstanding care giver.

Horrifying almost deadly experience. I brought my 8 year old hear because he had a rash on his chest. They quickly said he had chickenpox and sent us away with Tylenol. He has had all his vaccinations. A few hours later his rash spread to cover his chest face and shoulders so back to Tarzana we went. At that point they then said they had no clue what it was. They admitted us and then spent the next 2 days testing my son for random things, taking X-rays, taking blood twice a day. They literally tried to start an iv 4 different times on my 8 year old. His sheets were covered in blood and he was horrified. His fever kept spiking up to 104, I asked them to put him on a schedule of Motrin or Tylenol so this doesn’t happen. Next time I checked my son he had a 105. At that point it had been 2 days and I saw the doctor twice and got ZERO answers. I asked to them be transferred to children’s hospital in la so my son could receive the care he needed because we still didn’t know what’s wrong. The DOCTOR TOLD ME NO, she said it would take FOREVER To transfer us IN FRONT OF MY 8 YEAR OLD CHILD and she also told me she wouldn’t sign my son out so we could take him to children’s hospital ourselves. I then asked her to immediately leave the room and I told her she was a horrible doctor. I demanded an AMA release against medical advice, we rushed my son to children’s la and had a diagnosis and had him started on medicine within 6 hours of arriving at children’s hospital. Long story short, THIS HOSPITAL IS A DEATH TRAP. THEY WILL KEEP YOUR CHILDREN THERE AND NOT GIVE THEM PROPER CARE SO THEY CAN COLLECT YOUR INSURANCE MONEY. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO PROVIDENCE TARZANA IF YOU WANT THEM TO SURVIVE THEIR ILLNESS.

I walked into the ER of the Encino medical center and they felt that I had an irregular heart pattern so they had an ambulance to take me to the Tarzana ER in which they were very professional admitted me immediately and kept me overnight for observation they work in constant care it was very impressive very professional the food was palatable and the doctors were more than professional.

The stuff were so helpful and considerate to me. It wasn't a long wait comparing to other ER in Los Angeles. They make sure every patient gets taken care of. And the doctors work as fast as they can.

The doctors here are the worst. Also, they don't quarantine MRSA or staph patients since my best friend shared a room with an elderly man being treated for multiple things including I giant staph wound on his leg. Now maybe this doesn't seem like a big deal to the average person or because my best friend is not high risk, but unfortunately, I am I risk and I've come down with a severe infection in the past 48 hours. Also, maybe the nurses should take a course in phlebotomy so his arms don't look like a heroin addict with tracks running down them. Absolutely appalled at the disregard for safety at this Hospital. Also it would be great if your staff didn't discuss their alcoholism in front of patients.
