I want to clarify that this is a review for the MAIN BILLING OFFICE at UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS MEDICAL CENTER. All the doctors I have encountered are great as is most staff. But the billing office is something else - I would give it 0 stars if I could. I received a bill which I was certain was way too high for an office visit. The amount was 4 times as much as my office visits usually cost. Same insurance, same kind of simple office visit. I called twice to try and get clarification. I called the main billing office numbers listed on the invoice, one was an 800 number and the other a local number. Waited for 50 minutes once and then later waited 45 minutes. The invoice was from Maine, I am in Ohio. I finally gave up and called the local billing office where I go in Ohio. They answered immediately but told me they could not do anything but did give me 2 numbers of managers at the main office but of course neither person answered. It is irritating that when they make a mistake and I need to point it out to them, I cannot even get through. I am told the usual wait is one hour and 15 minutes. Ridiculous. How can the local office answer virtually immediately, yet the main number makes you wait on hold for more than an hour. Incredibly frustrating...
