Ascension St. Vincent Randolph

The hospital itself is great , unfortunately the emergency room needs some work! The staff needs a class on compassion and bedside manners!! I understand drugs are a huge issue nowadays but not everyone that walks in there is a druggie!! I didn’t appreciate all the remarks that were made to my family and I ! I would love for someone to contact me so I can address my complaints further!!

My family has received absolutely nothing but excellent care for the Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and staff here at the hospital as well as the medical group offices. I had searched for literally years for a Doctor who knew and understood the specifics of my autoimmune disease, and that would order the appropriate labs. I finally found that with Dr Syme and her team. Not only has she helped improve my health in the last 5 years, but has completely changed my quality of life. It truly takes a team to properly treat, you have that with her and her staff. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

The staff and Dr were very nice last night with my 2 yr old granddaugher. She has had RSV for 8 days now. She has gotten worse each day. She is barely breathing and coughs constantly . But the Drs send her home with nothing to ease her breathing and discomfort .They say her body has to fight it off .Well that's understandable but you can still give her a steroid and cough meds to ease her pain! She is miserable! I've had asthma since I was 3 .I grew up on steroids! It didn't kill me! I'm a healthy 54 yr old woman that's born 4 healthy children that have kids of their own now! If a Dr or nurse felt like my granddaughter feels, they would be taking a steroid and cough meds to help them through it!

When my dad had his first stroke, he had all of the obvious signs of a typical stroke. He was having trouble speaking, his smile was crooked, and he was crying (my dad had only cried two other times in front of me). Yet, because he had longer hair, St. Vincent Randolph Hospital decided he was on drugs and didn't need any treatment. I told the ER doctor that he was obviously having a stroke, and the doctor asked me what medical school I attended. Over THREE hours later, they decided to check him out (I'm guessing after the blood test revealed NO drugs). Well, well, he was having a stroke! We demanded he be transported to a hospital where they knew what a stroke was and how to treat it. The next morning he was transported. He had to learn everything all over again. He didn't remember my little sister for awhile. It was really sad. We had to help him with math, spelling, writing, reading, etc. All of that could have been prevented if St Vincent Randolph would have been a little more competent. They almost killed me as well. Fortunately the doc who treated me was humble enough to tell my parents I needed transported to another hospital. He said their equipment wasn't good enough to detect concussions (or anything else). One of their docs in the outpatient office will prescribe you whatever you want, but she will also tell you that you have diseases you don't have. She also prescribes the most expensive medication available. A woman I know was prescribed adipex (to help her lose weight). She's 5'2 and weighs 115-120.
