University of North Carolina Hospital

It's huge, the size of a small town atmosphere. Everyone is pleasant, professional and helpful and upbeat/positive attitudes. I felt safe and confident I would receive the best health care available in this region! My specialist always recommend the physicians here for my care and procedures. It's worth the drive to get the best care, if you value your life and well being....cut cost else where..

What a way to start my morning ! Arrived to the Cancer hospital and the receptionist where you check in was so rude and short with me like she didn’t want to be bothered!! I think she needs coffee! U would think working in a Cancer hospital she would have compassion!!! Thank God the young lady that called me back for my insurance info was Awesome-

I would give the largest negative number possible but since that’s no an option I had to give 1 star. We went there because they have it advertised on the web as a hospital that jumps on sepsis patients and does a code sepsis to get them treated as fast as possible. Well I was already diagnosed with sepsis and the receptionist didn’t know what it was or how to spell it. We had to wait for 3 more people to go ahead of me to be triaged. They took one lady straight back. Finally a totally clueless guy did my “triage”. He was asking questions about why I was there and how I knew I had sepsis and he kept cutting me off and I finally told him I was trying to tell him but he kept interrupting me. Then he told me to go wait in the waiting room and I asked for about how long and he said a while. Again I mentioned having sepsis and the code sepsis they were supposed to be known for to catch and treat sepsis. He knew nothing of that. I looked it up on the phone and went and showed him and he informed me there were 50-60 patients in the back. I told him I didn’t care how many patients were in the back but sepsis needed to be taken care of right away. Again he sent me to the waiting room. There was an elderly couple that we were talking to and the man’s doctor had called the hospital letting them know that they were sending him over. He had just gotten out of the hospital 6 days previous and they had been waiting 5 hours and he looked sick! I worked in the ICU and on the squad back home and there were several people who needed to go back. We left and went to a different UNC Campus and we had a great experience there. I wouldn’t bring my dog to you all. Especially being a “trauma center” who are supposed to be the best of the best. Not even close. The facility was also dirty. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED.

Arrived at 6pm and tried for parking at the emergency room front doors and they told me it was full and as I pulled away they chose to park the persons car behind mine ...... after they told me I had to park a crossed the street then waited inside the emergency waiting room for 2 hour at first thinking they are under staffed but as we finally get in at 8 quickly found out other wise and after sitting in the waiting room trying to be seen we found ur self with a “lovely “? Room in the middle of the hallway next to someone throwing up in a bucket for 2 hours 🙂 without them being seen and sat inside the hallway from 8pm till 2:30am until finally getting answers from a doctor after the whole time let’s add the fact that a nurse wouldn’t give me a chair because he so claims not to know anything about chairs. Look they know what they are talking about when it comes to what they learned in school but I honestly don’t believe that you can walk down a hallway here without getting a smug look or a young nurse being rude and self titled.

I had terrible experience here. You guys need to do a better job at evaluating your employees in addition to your patients. The lady Caitlin Turner was rude and I mean absolutely rude to us. Bad attitude, the other staff was ok but I am definitely going back to Duke.
